The one who questioned everything. Who needed to know WHY. Who didn’t automatically listen just because an adult said so. Growing up, that was often seen as a discipline problem. I needed to listen better. Respect authority. Stop questioning things. What was perceived as defiance was often curiosity. I wasn’t trying to be difficult. My brain was trying to understand. 💛 We FEEL deeply. Sometimes overwhelmingly so. But the world needs people who genuinely care. ⚖️ We have a strong sense of JUSTICE. We question unfairness & speak up when things don’t sit right. 🔥 We have an incredible capacity to DO. Give us something we’re passionate about, & watch what happens. Yet starting a simple task can feel impossible. Both can be true. 💡 Our minds move FAST. Ideas, connections, possibilities. When we learn to capture them, incredible things can happen. ❓ We QUESTION things. We don’t always accept something simply because it’s the way things have always been done. And thank goodness for that. 🧩 We recognize PATTERNS. Some of us connect dots & see possibilities others haven’t considered. Does ADHD have challenges? ABSOLUTELY. Executive dysfunction, emotional regulation, overstimulation, time blindness. They’re real. I’m interested in changing the conversation. Somewhere there’s a little girl being called difficult when she’s trying to understand. A little boy being labeled disruptive because his body needs to move. An adult wondering why seemingly simple things feel so hard. What if we stopped demanding that every brain work the same way? What if we made room for curiosity instead of immediately demanding compliance? Children need boundaries & accountability. But understanding should come before punishment. That defiant little girl grew up. She became a mother. A business owner (x 2). Someone who still questions everything, feels deeply, & has 47 ideas running through her head. 😂 Diagnosed with ADHD as an adult, I now look back at that little girl differently. October is ADHD Awareness Month, & I wish more people understood that ADHD isn’t just about our struggles. Instagram post Remember when I said San Antonio traffic wasn’t that bad? Well, some of y’all had THOUGHTS. Over 50,000 views later, I’m still standing by what I said. This is what I traded Houston traffic for. It’s 7 PM in Bulverde, Texas. The roads are quiet. God is showing off. & I’m just enjoying the drive home. As someone born & raised in the Greater Houston area, I spent years thinking that sitting in traffic was simply part of everyday life. Moving to the Texas Hill Country completely changed my perspective. Yes, we’re a little outside the heart of San Antonio. Yes, depending on where you’re headed, you may have a longer drive. But when I compare the actual time I spend behind the wheel here to what I experienced growing up around Houston? I’ll happily take these Hill Country roads. & these sunsets? Just an added bonus. 🥹 Here’s something else you might not know… 🏡 There are currently 400+ NEW CONSTRUCTION homes available in the Boerne–Bulverde Corridor, including Fair Oaks Ranch! 💰 Some homes start around $375,000. 🔑 & with certain new construction opportunities, you may be able to get under contract with as little as $500 in earnest money! Imagine trading the hustle of the city for evenings like this. Quiet roads. Gorgeous sunsets. More room to breathe. You don’t have to leave the San Antonio area to find a slower pace of life. 🤎 Now I’m curious… 🚗 Houston, Dallas, Austin, or San Antonio: Where did YOU learn to drive? And would you trade a few extra miles for a drive home like this? 👇🏼 Tell me in the comments! Want to see what’s available in Boerne, Bulverde, and Fair Oaks Ranch? Comment HILL COUNTRY and I’ll send you my home search! 🏡 Celia Grell | Realtor The Grell Team | Épique Realty 📱 832-557-4576 ✉️ [email protected] 🌐 www.TheGrellTeam.com 🔗 https://linktr.ee/thegrellteam #BulverdeTX #BoerneTX #FairOaksRanchTX #TexasHillCountry #MovingToSanAntonio BoerneMoms BulverdeMoms Instagram post I’m convinced Houston & San Antonio have two VERY different definitions of traffic. 😂🚗 It’s 4 PM on a weekday. I’m coming home to Bulverde from Hondo, merging onto I-10 West from Loop 1604. & would you look at that?! Cars everywhere. Everyone moving. People staying in their lanes. Nobody treating the double white lines like a suggestion. & WE’RE ALL GETTING WHERE WE NEED TO GO. 😭👏🏼 As someone born & raised in the Houston area, I genuinely struggle when people tell me how terrible San Antonio traffic is. Because to me, traffic isn’t simply having a lot of cars on the road. Traffic is sitting on a freeway, barely moving, watching your estimated arrival time get later and later. My car was often in park in the middle of the freeway. I used to study for my college exams on my way to University of Houston. 😒 Traffic is leaving somewhere at 4 PM & wondering if you’ll make it home before bedtime. 😂 Today? Not a single delay on my drive home. & I’m not saying San Antonio NEVER has bad traffic. Of course it does! But a busy freeway where everyone is still moving? That’s not bad traffic. That’s just a road with cars on it. 🤣 Maybe it’s because I grew up around Houston traffic. Maybe it’s because I’ve spent years adjusting to the slower pace of the Texas Hill Country. Either way, I think my definition of a terrible commute is permanently broken. & I’m perfectly okay with that. 🤎 Now I need to find my people! 🚗 Houston transplants, DFW transplants, Austin transplants… am I making sense?! 🌵 San Antonio natives, is THIS what y’all consider traffic?! Tell me where you learned to drive & whether you’d consider this a bad commute. 👇🏼 Celia Grell Texas Hill Country Realtor | The Grell Team Epique Realty 📱 832-557-4576 ✉️ [email protected] 🌐 www.TheGrellTeam.com 🔗 https://linktr.ee/thegrellteam #SanAntonioTraffic #HoustonVsSanAntonio #TexasHillCountry #BulverdeTX #SanAntonioTX BoerneMoms BulverdeMoms
